Job Title: Superintendent

Job Description:

We’re looking for a highly capable Superintendent to oversee and lead various aspects of Civil Infrastructure operations. This role requires a keen eye for safety, quality, productivity, and scheduling, along with exceptional leadership and coordination skills.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Coach and mentor the team on safety, quality, productivity, and scheduling, ensuring alignment with the daily plan.
  • Uphold and promote company policies, rectifying unsafe acts and conditions.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews and assist in recruitment efforts.
  • Monitor safe work practices, procedures, and work plans, ensuring compliance.
  • Train Foremen in work scheduling and maintenance.
  • Oversee equipment operator certifications and ensure proper training.
  • Step in for Foremen during their absence, including vacation relief.
  • Participate in incident investigations and site inspections.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and maintenance of assigned equipment.
  • Monitor procurement of small tools and consumables.
  • Facilitate mentorship for new hires through experienced mentors.
  • Review project quality plans with Project Managers before work commences.
  • Supervise operations to minimize re-work and ensure first-time quality.
  • Work within or below budget and understand budgetary constraints.
  • Administer disciplinary/corrective actions following company policy.
  • Participate in manpower meetings, monitoring assigned manpower and daily work instructions.
  • Communicate progress, schedule variance, crew performance, and safety to Project Managers regularly.
  • Coordinate equipment resource availability/needs with the General Superintendent/Project Manager.
  • Conduct visual equipment checks and monitor outside equipment rentals.
  • Address Owner/Client concerns, relay information to PM, and aid in problem-solving.
  • Ensure timely submission of daily reports, timesheets, progress claims, and equipment logs.
  • Conduct Daily Toolbox Talks, encouraging safety awareness among craft workers.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to create and approve work plans, aiming for accident-free work.
