Summerland Wastewater Treatment Plant

Project At A Glance

Location:

Summerland, BC

Client:

District of Summerland

Services & Scope:

  • Civil Works
  • Earth Works
  • Electrical

About The Project

Okanagan Civil was selected as a subcontractor to Maple Reinders Construction on this project. The existing primary clarifier was nearing the end of its useful life and could not be taken out of service for maintenance, leaving the District with no system redundancy. Provincial and municipal wastewater regulations require two clarifiers for redundancy. This project adds a second primary clarifier along with a new pump gallery, splitter box, and blending box, strengthening long-term reliability and bringing Summerland’s wastewater system into full regulatory compliance to protect Okanagan Lake.

Project Highlights:

  • Excavation for the new clarifier, splitter box, pump gallery, and blending box
  • Concrete base, clarifier structure, splitter box, and pump gallery concrete pours
  • Splitter box tie-in to the existing treatment system
  • Install 450mm PI and PE piping, 150mm water, and associated civil piping and conduits
  • Asphalt paving and site restoration
