About The Project

The District of Summerland continued its commitment to maintaining and improving community infrastructure with this next phase of upgrades along Victoria Road South, extending road improvements and a multi-use pathway all the way to the Prairie Valley Road oval-about. This phase picks up from where previous work was completed in 2024 near Dunham Crescent, extending south approximately 600 meters to the large roundabout at the intersection of Victoria Road South and Prairie Valley Road. The project delivers improved road infrastructure, active transportation connections, and long-term water system reliability for Summerland’s residents and the surrounding sports fields area.

Project Highlights:

Road reconstruction of approximately 600 metres along Victoria Road South (Dunham Crescent to Prairie Valley Road) and 150 metres along Dale Meadows Road (Victoria Road to Walton Street)
Two full travel lanes and a 3-metre-wide separated multi-use pathway along Victoria Road
Pedestrian safety improvements along Dale Meadows Road to the sports fields Summerland
Watermain installation and associated service upgrades along Dale Meadows Road and water service upgrades along Victoria Road, supporting long-term water system separation and reliability
Road base preparation, drainage infrastructure, and asphalt paving
